It's now four years since Photographer Rachel Adams and I came up with the idea of documenting the famous and forgotten lesbian / bi / trans faces of Manchester. Since then the project has developed hugely and now encompasses audio, medium format and studio portraits all hosted on its own website: www.themodernlesbian.co.uk
The great people at Contact Manchester have very kindly given the Manchester and Birmingham portraits a new lease of life at this year's Queer Contact festival.
The opening is this Wednesday (6th Feb) and everyone's invited http://queercontact2013.eventbrite.co.uk.
Have fun and a browse round some personal stories and images which together give us an in-depth view into the history of the UK's hitherto hidden LGBTI scenes.
Thanks to all who have been involved in the project to date and look out for Rachel's ongoing work in Brighton - coming soon to www.racheladamsphotography.com
