Throughout 2014 Curated Place will be hosting international artists at our studios in Federation House as part of Castlefield Gallery’s New Art Spaces programme. We will also be inviting mid-career UK based artists and curators to develop their practice, networks and markets for their work in the Nordic and MENA regions.
Rather than simply moving artists abroad to work in a vacuum, the programme will invite participants to engage in a collaborative creative process supported by curatorial teams in each country – developing ideas and projects for large-scale, often public realm, arts projects. The objective is to ensure lasting relationships are formed from the experience as well as creating international projects, touring opportunities and increased audiences for all involved.
The Curated Place Residency’s mission is to create lasting creative and cultural international relationships through collaborative work to deliver world-class art, exhibitions and events.
We are currently running a closed programme of invited artists only to develop the partnerships in each country. We will be running an open call for applications from mid-career artists of all disciplines soon. To find out when the programme goes live sign up to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
